Scholarship Description
The University of London International Programmes and the Canon Collins Trust are jointly offering the University of London LLM Scholarships for eligible students to pursue postgraduate qualifications in Law by distance learning at the University of London.

Canon Collins Trust invites applications for the University of London LLM Scholarships to study for the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and/or the Master of Laws (LLM) by distance learning at the University of London in 2018. Applicants can start at any level, and do not need to complete the whole programme.

These University of London LLM Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of University of London International Programmes. The University of London International Programmes and Canon Collins Trust will jointly select the recipients of this award.

University of London LLM Scholarships

Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be in possession of the necessary qualifications required for admission to the programme. See information on the admission requirements of the university.

Applicants for the University of London LLM Scholarships must be:
  • a national of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe
  • normally resident in one of these countries
  • in possession of the necessary qualifications required for admission to the programme;
  • currently employed in full or part-time work;
  • able to commit a minimum of 10 hours to study per week.

Selection Criteria:
In selecting scholars, the Canon Collins Trust will apply a number of criteria including academic merit, work experience, need and the potential to contribute to southern Africa’s future prosperity. The Trust is looking for future leaders in their fields and therefore demonstrable leadership qualities are important.

Four scholarships will be awarded

Sponsorship duration
Scholarship recipients have between 1 to 5 years to complete the LLM, and continued registration on the course is dependent upon satisfactory progress and academic reports

Scholarship benefits
These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of University of London International Programmes which shall waive full tuition and examination entry fees for four scholarship recipients.

Local examination fees are not included.

Method of Application
You do not need to be admitted to University of London before applying for the scholarship; you can do both at the same time. You must apply separately to University of London to secure a place on its course. There is no cost to apply for admission to the course. If you are offered a scholarship but fail to get a place on a course, the Trust will withdraw the offer. The online scholarship application form can be found on the Canon Collins Trust website. You will find full instructions online when you start a new form.

The Trust will accept scholarship applications through its online form between Monday 11 May 2015 and 15:00 BST on Tuesday 15 September 2015

All sections of the form need to be complete before the system will allow the application form to be submitted. Information can be saved and the application form edited until the applicant chooses to submit.

Applications will not be accepted by email, fax or through the post. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
