The Commissioner said, government did not only release for the immediate payment but also reviewed the scholarship from N1,820 to N10,000 for students in Pre-ND, Remedial, and Certificate courses.

Bello Ayuba said after the Ministry’s submission to Governor Shettima on the need to review students scholarship  the Governor deemed it fit to increase the students scholarship to a minimum of N10,000 for Pre-ND and Remedial as well as N20,000 for undergraduates.

He said, as for the Law students, who had been receiving N250,000 alongside a laptop, the latest review has also affected them positively as they are to receive N300,000. Now, with a laptop.

The Commissioner said, “There has not been any interview for scholarship in the state since 2009, and now that government has approved the money for scholarship, we are urging students who did not apply for scholarship to go and obtained the form at the rate of N150 for internal students of 2012/2013 session.”

According to him, government is doing everything to turn around the fortunes of students from no scholarship situation to something tangible, and as such, he urged the over 6,353 students under the Borno state scholarship to reciprocate the gesture by taking their studies seriously.
