SPDC Scholarships and Education Programmes

Shell’s support for educational development involves assisting host communities to provide sustainable and qualitative education that ultimately reaches all the people.

This involves active consultation at all stages of development planning, implementation and evaluation, with all stakeholders.

A). SPDC Education Support

SPDC has a number of professorial chairs in Universities with the objectives of promoting teaching and research, providing research grant for academia, enhancing the quality of graduates in the selected disciplines and promoting technological development in Nigeria.

B). SPDC Students Programme

SPDC’s elaborate educational programme in the Niger Delta entails Scholarship Schemes including one specifically targetted at physically challenged students, Leadership Training for school prefects, Peace and Citizenship Education for youth, amongst others.

    Education, as all parents and guardians admit, is a long-term investment with an equally long gestation period, but it is one of the best legacies to bequeath to individuals, groups and society. That has been the belief of Shell Nigeria since 1952.
    SPDC operates various scholarship schemes, a welcome feature of educational development, especially in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria.
