ReplyDeleteplease am only seeing this for the first time.but i need to find out whether those who study education up to the postgraduate level can also apply next year since the form is already closed for this year.melekeowei Premobowei
ReplyDeleteHi there @premobowei, NDDC (the providers of this scholarship scheme since its inception few years ago) has never added Eduction as one of the field of study for this scholarship.
DeleteThus to predict that such will be the case for next year's scholarship is unreasonable. To ascertain this fact, you will need to wait till next call for scholarship applications OR write NDDC at the address provided above. Goodluck
PLEASE, I AM NIGERIAN MEDICAL STUDENT STUDYING IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. I HAVE TWO YEARS TO COMPLETE MY MEDICAL COURSE AND IN NEED OF FINANCIAL AID. PLEASE, HOW CAN I BECOME ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP? CAN I APPLY FOR THE NDDC GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP? WHAT SITE CAN I GET THE APPLICATION PROCESS/ FORM?
ReplyDeleteJEE.
Hi @Annonymous, the NDDC Oversea PG Scholarship is for admission into PG courses outside Nigeria for Nigerians from the NDDC states.
DeleteIf you are a Nigerian studying an undergraduate course, and ALREADY HALFWAY through your course, then you CANNOT apply for this scholarship towards your CURRENT course. However, if you are in a first degree medical course (for MBBS/MBBCh or similar), then you can apply for the scholarship towards a MEDICAL MASTERS course when you are done. If you are already in a masters NOW, then you can apply for it towards a PhD when you are done.
YOU CANNOT APPLY WHEN YOU ARE IN AN UNDERGRADUATE COURSE OR HALFWAY INTO THE COURSE YOU INTEND TO APPLY SCHOLARSHIPS TO. To apply, you must fill in the official online form. Just follow the 'More Scholarship Information and Application' link provided in the article above. If you still need further clarification, please write the scholarship providers at the address provided above. Goodluck!

DeleteOK, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I HAVE DONE SO AND EXPECTING YOUR REPLY. ONCE AGAIN, GOD BLESS YOU, CHEERS... :-D
DeletePls how do i go abt satisfying the first prerequisite (applicants must have gained admission into a recognised University abroad)?...am from a Niger-Delta state with a discipline in Agriculture....i also want to know if it's a free tuition scholarship..thanks..pls reply
ReplyDeleteTo gain admission into a university abroad, you must apply to a foreign university, and be accepted into a course of study at that same university.
DeleteRegarding your second question, the scholarship article above says, "This is a Full-fee scholarship. Therefore, all fees and expenses will be paid." Is that not self-explanatory? It means ALL fees and ALL expenses you are expected to incur are incorporated into the scholarship, so you pay nothing. Hope you're clarified.
Please I just graduated and I have not gone for service neither have gained admission into any foreign university for masters. I am from DELTA STATE. Here is my email. Zikko4ever@yahoo.com. Please I need this scholarship if possible. If not send me some universities that offer BIOCHEMISTRY so I could apply and secure admission for next year scholarhip. Thank you
ReplyDeleteDear Sir/Ma
ReplyDeleteI am trying to apply for the NNDC scholarship bt still having problem because i have not been admitted into any university abroad
Hi @chinyere, it is an eligibility criteria that you MUST have "Gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a foreign University." This is an essential prerequisite. You MUST apply to a foreign university FIRST and be given admission b4 applying to this scholarship!

ReplyDeleteHello @Lizzy i very much understand your confusion. However, if you read the article above (for the current 2013/2014 scholarships) it is clearly stated that:
DeleteApplicants who might have admission challenges should contact the following address:
Director, Education Health and Social Services (NDDC)
Email1: christyatako[at]nddc.gov.ng
Email2: christyatako[at]yahoo.com
Have you contacted them to ask them this question? They are your best bet at getting a satisfactory answer and clearing up your confusion. They must have had similar issues with other applicants in the past. Please contact them. Good luck
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this update. please i will like to confirm if the bond of conduct is also the same as the guarantors recommendation to be uploaded in the application portal.thanks
Yes I believe they are one and the same thing. But remember that if you have issues of any kind, it is safer to inquire from the scholarship provider themselves. For the current academic session, the address is christyatako[at]nddc.gov.ng or christyatako[at]yahoo.com. Good luck to you!
Deletehi,
ReplyDeletei think this is a good initiative! i only just got wind of this scholarship scheme, and would like to know:
1. if its annually
2. if yes, when do we start applying for next year (2014)
thanks
Hi, the answers to your questions are:
Delete1. Yes it is annual
2. Application is when the providers make the next call. My advise: Subscribe to us so you don't miss the next call.
Hi dear! Please where does geography and environmental management fall under the professional disciplines?
ReplyDeleteHello there, i'd say it falls somewhere between Geosciences and Environmental sciences depending on your school. But most candidly i'd want you to write an email to the providers just to make assurance double. Cheers!
DeleteADDENDUM:
DeleteIn addition, i'll also like to add that most scholarship providers appreciate the fact that some schools have certain disciplines with different names and/or under different faculties from other schools and what is generally popular. Bearing this in mind, send them an email at the address in the above article. Ciao!
