Online Educational Technology Revolution

From traditional schools to online colleges, from typical classrooms to online discussion forums and from regular teachers to online tutors, technology has revolutionized our patterns to eat, buy, shop and most significantly getting educated.

It has put the digital gadgets like smart phones and tablets into our pockets and to reach the world with a couple of clicks no matter wherever on the earth you are.

A decade ago, the concept of online education was taken as a weak alternative to regular learning but with the invention and expansion of technology, digital and distance learning has broken the traditional educational structures and has established technological and easy to go learning methods suitable and assessable for learners at the same time. The technological revolution has introduced a couple of ways to get educated right from home.

The electronic gadgets
These are the core factors behind the changes and advances in traditional learning style. The 19th century did not know what the electronic gadgets are. The 20th century saw their invention and the 21st century is an era where people are grounded in digital gadgets.

Laptop, tablets and smart phones have brought a commendable revolution to every field of life whether it is business, health, or trade and particularly the online education which has been made possible because of them and the internet.

Video conferencing
When we talk about video conferencing, we refer to the software services like Skype which not only exchange voices but also make the video exchange possible.

Obviously you don’t feel comfortable with just hearing the voice of your teacher while learning. The video feature makes the learning environment more real with displaying the expressions, gestures and reactions of the teacher hence providing ways to understand each other better.

Websites as communicative forums

The educational technological revolution has made teacher-student communication easy and approachable. The online school where you enroll gives you access and login details of the discussion forum where you discuss your coursework, problems and get your queries answered. You also get access to many online educational resources and publications.

The importance of online educational technology revolution

The online educational technology revolution has made the world smaller than ever. The information related to different fields and different professions is available online. The course material and content can be viewed as many times as required, the videos can be watched again and again and lectures can be listened whenever you want.

More and more people are now able to acquire education previously unable due to their busy routines. The technological revolution in education has given a learning platform to those who already have tough work schedules and don’t have time to go attend regular classes with the advantage to access everything no matter wherever in the world they are.

This is just the beginning; the technological revolution in education will lead to such a world where there would be countless self learning resources and learners will no longer need to rely on anything except them. That time is coming soon!
