Scholarship Description
The University of Skövde (or in local Swedish, Högskolan i Skövde) offers a number of scholarships to international master's students from eligible countries of the world who wish to study at the University.

The University administrates the UHR Scholarships for master's students funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) to students liable to pay tuition fees attending a master's programme at the University.

It also offers the HS Scholarships for master's students which is a small number of scholarships funded by the University of Skövde (i.e. Högskolan i Skövde, or simply HS) to students attending a master's programme at the University who are liable for tuition fees.

Eligibility
Applicants for the University of Skövde International Masters Scholarships must be attending an international master's programme at the University.

The scholarship can only be awarded to tuition-paying students. Most applicants who are citizens of a country outside of the EU/EEA and Switzerland are required to pay fees.

Selection Criteria:
The scholarship granting criterion is academic merits.

  • The School of Bioscience
  • The School of Business

Sponsorship duration
The scholarships are granted for one academic semester.

Both UHR and HS Scholarships can be extended to a subsequent academic semester provided that the student’s study results are satisfactory.

Scholarship benefits
The UHR scholarships are partial tuition fee waivers of about 31,250 SEK per semester (50% of the tuition fee), and the amount is automatically deducted from the tuition fee when you receive your invoice.

The HS scholarships consist of tuition fee waivers of 25,000 SEK per semester, and the amount is automatically deducted from the tuition fee.

Please note that you have to be able to finance the rest of the tuition fee yourself and to cover all the living expenses during your stay in Sweden.

Method of Application
First apply for one of masters studies at the University via University Admissions. You must apply for one of the University master’s programmes at the Swedish official online application service University Admissions.

Then apply for a scholarship at the University of Skövde by filling in the online scholarship application form available on the official webpage (link to it is below). Please note that you will need to provide the application number you received from the University Admissions website.

Scholarship application for the autumn semester 2017 is currently open. Deadline for submission of all applications is 16 January 2017 (23:59 Swedish time)

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are already enrolled as a master's student at the University, you are not currently eligible to apply for UHR and HS scholarships. These scholarships are awarded prior to the commencement of a master's programme.

The scholarships will cover up to 50% of the tuition fee to be paid by the student. Thus, it can only be awarded to tuition paying students. Please note that applicants have to be able to finance the rest of the tuition fee themselves and to cover all the living expenses during their stay in Sweden.
