Scholarship Description
Each year, the University of Edinburgh offers the Edinburgh Global Health Academy Distance Learning Master’s Scholarship to international students from developing countries.

IMPORTANT ADDENDUM:
For 2016/2017 academic session, the University has compressed this prestigious scholarship with another of its prestigious scholarship, the Edinburgh Global Online Distance Learning Scholarships. This decision may be rescinded for subsequent years. Therefore, for the current version of this scholarship, please see the Edinburgh Global Online Distance Learning Scholarship.


Edinburgh Global Health Academy Distance Learning Master's Scholarship

Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission onto an eligible online distance learning Global Health Academy programme at the University of Edinburgh commencing in 2015-2016.

Applicants who have already commenced their programme of study on the closing date are not eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants intending to study an on campus programme of study are not eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants must be both nationals of and resident in one of the eligible countries.

Selection criteria:
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.

Citizens and residents of the following eligible countries:
Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Kenya, Kiribati, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Samoa, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia

Number of awards
The University will offer 4 Master’s scholarships for eligible distance learning Master’s programmes

Sponsorship duration
The value of the scholarship is applied over the whole duration of the eligible online programme

Scholarship benefits
Each distance learning scholarship will have a total value over the duration of the programme of £9,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee for the entire part-time programme of study.

Method of Application
To apply to this scholarship, you must first have applied for admission into an eligible course at the University of Edinburgh. Eligible applicants should complete an Online Scholarship Application.

Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.

Applicants for the Distance Learning Scholarships are asked when completing the personal statement of the scholarship application form, to indicate why distance learning suits their particular circumstances making reference to both online learning and distance learning.

DEADLINES:
The CLOSING DATE for applications for these scholarships every year is usually the 31st of May of that year. For the 2015/2016 academic session, however, closing date for applications is 29 May 2015.

PLEASE NOTE:
You MUST have applied for admission into the University and have full EASE authentication, BEFORE gaining access to the online application form.

A Selection Committee will meet in late June 2015 to select the scholarship holders. All applicants will be notified of the outcome in July 2015

I have been already admitted to do online postgraduate masters in Pharmacy with an offer of partial scholarship of $ 2000 by the Atlantic international university ( AIU ) Hawaai,USA but unable to get the remaining funding of $ 3600 .Please assist me to locate an external funding agency so as not to miss this opportunity.

  2. Is this turuey a scholarship or just something to get peoples attention?
    Why is this scholarship offered mostly (95%) French speaking African Countries? If not , because only few persons would apply for it. Please guys be serious.
