Scholarship Description
The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) is happy to offer the NHEF Scholars Program for Nigerian students, and therefore welcome applications from motivated students with a true passion for leadership and personal development.

The NHEF Scholars Program provides a range of opportunities for Nigerian undergraduates which is fashioned to help them in their long-term career pursuits. Every year, the NHEF does this in partnership with selected universities and institutions to identify excellent students in their penultimate years to participate in the Nigerian higher education intern class.

Through sustained support and coaching, the NHEF facilitates the placement of these outstanding undergraduate scholars into institutions and leading companies in the industry of their choice to gain real-world work experience. The NHEF is now accepting applications for its 2019 Scholars Program.

Nigeria Higher Education Foundation Scholars Program

Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, you must be studying at one of the NHEF Partner Universities. Students of Non-Partner Universities may be eligible for the program in the future.

Successful scholars are undergraduates in their penultimate year of study. The Scholars program is designed specifically for penultimate year students. However, NHEF will review applications from Final year students and make decisions on a case by case basis. Please note that if you are offered a place in the program, you will need to provide evidence of your year of study. Before your internship begins, you will also need to provide us with a copy of your acceptance letter from your University.

Successful scholars must be well-rounded having demonstrated excellence in their academics, extracurricular activities and academic pursuits.

Successful scholars are expected to have a genuine dedication towards community service, philanthropy, and making lasting impact in society.

  1. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU), 
  2. Bayero University, Kano (BUK),
  3. University of Ibadan (UI), 
  4. University of Lagos (Unilag),
  5. University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and 
  6. University of Port Harcourt (Uniport).

NHEF can recommend you to more than one industry and to multiple firms across each industry depending on information recorded in your credentials.
