Scholarship Description
In order to support the best students to study at Aston University in September 2019, the University is delighted to offer the Global Excellence Scholarship.

Scholarships of up to £5,000 are on offer in the Global Excellence Scholarship for well-qualified international students wishing to study undergraduate (except for Medicine) or postgraduate courses at Aston in September 2019.

Aston welcomes students from all backgrounds. We take pride in our diverse student body who come not only from all over the world, but also from a wide range of social and educational backgrounds. Scholarships will not just be awarded to those with the highest grades, but to students who show the greatest potential and who could benefit the most from an Aston degree.

Aston University UK Global Excellence Scholarship


Eligibility
All students who apply to study an undergraduate* or full-time postgraduate programme* starting in September 2019 will automatically be considered for a scholarship of up to £3,000. These scholarships will be awarded based on your course application, your previous academic background and English language level.

Higher level scholarships of up to £5,000 are also available. In order to be considered for a £5,000 scholarship you will also need to submit a personal statement (maximum of 500 words) explaining why you are a suitable candidate for a £5,000 award.

Aston welcomes students from all backgrounds. EU students are also welcome to apply for this scholarship.

Fields of study
Applicants to all undergraduate courses except for Medicine are eligible for a scholarship. You must have received an offer for the course before the deadline dates above. We will notify you if you have been successful two weeks after the deadline date.

Applicants to all full-time 1-year postgraduate courses are eligible for a scholarship. You must have received an offer for the course before the deadline dates above. We will notify you if you have been successful two weeks after the deadline date.

Scholarship benefits
Scholarships of £3,000 and £5,000 are available for programmes starting in September 2019.

You can only receive one scholarship but you are able to apply for multiple scholarships. If you apply for a £5,000 scholarship and are unsuccessful, you will automatically be considered for a £3,000 award. If you are successful in being awarded multiple scholarships, the highest value scholarship will be awarded to you. Scholarships will automatically be credited to your student account in the form of a tuition fee reduction.

Method of Application
All international students who apply and hold an offer for an Aston undergraduate or full-time postgraduate taught master starting in September 2019 will automatically be considered for a scholarship of up to £3,000. There is no need for a separate scholarship application.

To apply for a £5,000 scholarship, you will also need to hold an offer for an undergraduate or full-time postgraduate programme starting in September 2019. We also require you to submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words to support your scholarship application. Your personal statement should explain why you believe you would make an excellent scholar and can be submitted using the online form on the official scholarship website here.

DEADLINES:
For Undergraduate students, scholarship application deadline is 14th March 2019; and acceptance deadline is 19th April 2019.

For Postgraduate students, three rounds of awards will be offered to give you the best chance of securing a scholarship.
