Scholarship Description
Each year the University of East Anglia (UEA) welcomes hundreds of international students and we are pleased to offer a large number of scholarships specifically for self-funded international undergraduate students to help cover the cost of your studies.

The International Undergraduate Scholarships are designed to reward applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can, clearly and concisely, explain how studying here at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study and to the wider UEA community.

The university is looking for entrants who have researched the opportunities available to them as a student at UEA, who can demonstrate a track record of community engagement and who can demonstrate how their degree will make a difference to the lives and community around them. The International Undergraduate scholarship helps toward this.

Universty of East Anglia International Excellence Scholarships

When applying for this scholarship, you must already be in possession of a conditional or unconditional offer for the first year of an undergraduate degree course starting at UEA in September 2020. Your offer should state that you are an international fee-paying student.

To be classified as an international fee-paying student you typically need to be a non-EU resident. See the fees and funding page on the official website for more details of who will pay international tuition fees. If you are still in doubt, then please email the planning office who can advise you further.

You will also need to be independently funding your studies, which means that you can’t apply if an organisation is sponsoring your study and paying your tuition fees. However, if you will be in receipt of a government loan, you can still apply for this scholarship.

Please note, that offer holders for medicine, occupational therapy or physiotherapy courses are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Students who are currently studying a Foundation course in the UK are not eligible to apply for this scholarship, but can apply for UEA’s International Foundation Scholarships.

Method of Application
Scholarship applicants must hold either a ‘conditional’ or ‘unconditional’ offer for year 1 of study on an undergraduate degree course at UEA at the time when they submit the scholarship application form for an eligible course. You can make your application via the Application Form. We would encourage you to submit your scholarship application as soon as you feel it is ready. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, meaning that the sooner you apply, the sooner you will find out whether you have been successful.

It is important to familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions, and also to visit the official website (link to it is below) for complete information on all aspects of applying for this scholarship award.

We recommend that you apply as early as possible as awards are issued on a monthly rolling basis between February to June. Applications submitted after 1200 (UK time) on 14 June 2020 will not be considered.
