Course Description
The Institute of Political Science at University of Warsaw offers the Graduate Programme in Political Science (before known as, Master’s Degree Studies in Political Science) for international students to apply to.

The Graduate Programme in Political Science (before Master’s Degree Studies in Political Science) is a fee-paying graduate programme (see Financial issues) of the University's Institute of Political Science. Currently, the Institute operates in the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science.

Candidates will be admitted on the basis on the documents submitted until all places have been filled. The decision made by the Institute of Political Science must be accepted by the Rector of the University of Warsaw in case of students outside the EU.

Eligibility
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
In order to apply for admission, apart from fluent English, candidates should meet one of the following conditions:
  • hold the Bachelor's degree in any area of studies in Poland or elsewhere,
  • hold the Master's degree in any area of studies, in Poland or elsewhere
Foreign diplomas must be authenticated by the appropriate authorities in your country, (if a diploma is not in English it should be translated into Polish by a sworn translator) and certified (if needed) by the University of Warsaw. Please see more on this on official website.
Update: A candidate is requested to submit with the copy of a diploma the proper confirmation from an educational institution in the country of issuing the diploma (ministry or university) that this diploma gives a right to start the MA (second cycle) studies in the country of issuing the diploma.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
Please note that you do NOT need to submit language test certificates if you are a native speaker, English is an official language in your country, you received your education in English at some stage of your educational career, participated in the exchange program where courses were taught in English, English was the language of instruction at your academic or secondary institution, you are a Scandinavian student, or a European student who studied English successfully during the secondary and/or higher education. You must be able to document this accordingly.

Fields of study
Graduate Programme in Political Science is addressed to persons with a Bachelor's degree awarded upon completion of a Bachelor's degree program (undergraduate studies) in Poland or elsewhere. They are second-cycle full-time graduate studies (Master). The language of tuition is English.

The courses within the studies are both theoretical and practical (as "Political Communication" based on simulations and games).

Number of awards
Number of candidates to be admitted every year is thirty (30)

Course duration
The course lasts two years. In order to receive the Master's degree, the graduates will be required to write a Master's thesis and pass the examination.

Course benefits
The graduates will acquire in the intellectual qualifications necessary for analysing political problems from an international perspective. Thanks to skill building activities provided during course, they will be well trained in the art of communication, negotiation and persuasion. The particular emphasis is placed on issues concerning the European integration as well as Poland and East Europe.

The graduates will be fully qualified to take up the posts of analysts and specialists in public administration, universities, national or international institutions and organizations, and companies operating in international markets.

Candidates should register on-line until 20th September 2017  (here and here), fill in an application form and pay a non-refundable application fee.

PLEASE NOTE:
Candidates will be admitted on the basis on the documents submitted until all places have been filled. The decision made by the Institute of Political Science must be accepted by the Rector of the University of Warsaw in case of students outside the EU. The Recruitment Commission will notify the candidates of the admission results by e-mail and by post. In case of insufficient number of candidates the studies will not be opened.

Institute of Political Science at University of Warsaw was founded in 1967 - initially as a part of the Philosophy Faculty. Currently, it operates in the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies.
