Eligibility:
-The successful candidate holds an MSc degree (or equivalent) in theoretical physics, mathematics, or applied mathematics (mathematical modelling).
- The successful applicant will be enrolled as a PhD student at the PhD School at the Faculty of Engineering within the Research Training Programme of Applied Mathematical Modelling and he/she will be located at the University of Southern Denmark in Sonderborg.

Scholarship Description:
A position as a PhD Research Fellow in mathematical modelling of electromechanical systems is available at the Mads Clausen Institute as of 1 October 2011 for a three-year period. In connection with the launching of a large interdisciplinary research project sponsored by the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation, we are seeking a strong candidate for a 3-year PhD scholarship focused at the modelling of electromechanical actuators and generators and the development of a software package for the configuration of actuator and generator components. Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years (5+3 programme). Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the Fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the period.
