Denmark Technical University Postdoctoral Positions for Computer Science and Engineering Students

Denmark Technical University Postdoctoral Positions

Course(s) Offered: Computer science, Engineering
Course Level: Graduate (postdoc, research)
Provider: Denmark Technical University
Country to Study in: Denmark

Course Description
The post-doctoral research will be in compiler support for the time-predictable processor Patmos and research on interaction between the processor architecture, the instruction set and WCET analysis.

Eligibility
To be eligible:
  • Candidates must hold a PhD degree within the fields of computer science and engineering (CSE) and a solid background in compiler backend development (compiler generators and code generation), compilation for VLIW architectures, and knowledge of the LLVM compiler framework.
  • Valuable additional knowledge includes real-time systems, worst-case execution analysis, and architecture modelling (using VHDL and/or architecture description languages).
  • Furthermore, good command of the English language is essential.
Eligible groups
International students of all nationalities are welcome

Participating Institutions
Denmark Technical University, DTU; Denmark.

In addition to DTU, project partners are: The Open Group, AbsInt Angewandte Informatik GmbH, Vienna University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology, University of York, GMV, and Intecs S.p.A.

Fields of study
Fields of computer science and engineering -- Time-predictable Multi-Core Architecture for Embedded Systems.

The T-CREST project addresses the design of time-predictable multi-core embedded systems, and the project is driven by a focus on worst-case execution time (WCET) analysis – it should be easy/feasible and with reasonably tight bounds and this calls for a fresh look at all levels of design and tools.

The overall aim of the project is to build a time-predictable system from the ground up. This includes: the hardware platform (network-on-chip, processor and memory controllers), compiler and real time kernel as well as WCET analysis tools and a benchmark application.

Number of awards

Course benefits
This is a postdoctoral research position during which successful candidates will receive a salary. Specific details should be inquired from the providers of the postdoctoral position.

Besides research within the T-CREST project, the candidate will be involved in teaching at DTU Informatics. In particular a new course on Compiler shall be developed.
