Scholarship Description
The Jutta and Peter Neckermann Study Abroad Scholarship was established May 1, 1998 with the gift to The Ohio State University from Peter and Jutta Neckermann of Columbus, Ohio to enhance the educational experience of deserving Ohio State students by providing Study Abroad scholarships for study abroad in Germany.

Eligibility
Scholarships will be awarded to full-time students attending The Ohio State University in a degree-granting program. Criteria for consideration include:
  • Having a minimum overall GPA of 3.00
  • Being admitted to an Ohio State approved semester/summer-long study abroad program in Germany
    (Short-term programs are not eligible for this scholarship)
  • Preference will be also given to students who can demonstrate financial need

Any Ohio State approved semester/summer-long study abroad program in Germany

Scholarship benefits
The scholarships awarded will be between $750 and $1,000 each. Students may only receive the Neckermann Study Abroad Scholarship one time.

The award enhances the educational experience of deserving Ohio State students.

Method of Application
The Jutta and Peter Neckermann Study Abroad Scholarship no longer accepts paper applications. All application materials will be submitted via Carmen. Once in Carmen, students will be able to upload application files into the dropbox. The Carmen application window will be open for one month prior to the deadline for the scholarship.

  2. Click on the "Join" link in the top navigation bar (next to Calendar)
  3. Read JOIN Instructions and click on "Join" link
  4. Select "Neckermann Scholarship SP 13"
  5. Fill in Registration information
  6. The scholarship is listed in Spring 2013
  7. Scholarship submission instructions are in the Content section
DEADLINES:
Final dates are February 1, 2013 for Summer 2013, Autumn 2013 and Academic Year 2013-2014 programs in Germany

PLEASE NOTE:
Scholarship applicants will be able to upload application files into the dropbox. The Carmen application window will be open for one month prior to the deadline for the scholarship.

Incomplete applications and/or applications for study abroad in countries other than Germany will not be considered.

Neckermann Scholarship applications will be reviewed for consideration only if a completed Study Abroad application (Ohio State advising report and personal statement) has been received by the Office of International Affairs, prior to the Neckermann Scholarship application deadline.

Scholarship award notifications will be sent electronically one month after the application deadline. Scholarship funds will post to the awardee’s Statement of Account with The Office of the Bursar during the first semester of the study abroad program.
