Scholarship Description
The World Bank Group, in its effort to provide practical experience in global development to graduate students across the world, offers paid internships for Young Graduates during both the Winter and the Summer seasons.

The World Bank Group Internship offers highly motivated and successful individuals an opportunity to improve their skills while working in a diverse environment. Interns generally find the experience to be rewarding and interesting.

The World Bank Internship is now accepting applications for the Winter internship season (i.e. December-March).

World Bank Paid Internship Programme for Young Graduates

Eligibility
To be eligible for an Internship, candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a Master's or Ph.D.’s degrees with plans to return to school full-time). There is no age limit.

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of languages such as: French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese is desirable. Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The WB Internship Program typically seeks candidates for:
  • Operations (Front Line) in the following fields: economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, engineering, urban planning, natural resources management, private sector development, and other related fields; or 
  • Corporate support (Accounting, Communications, Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Treasury, and other corporate services).

Most positions are in Washington, DC; few others are in World Bank Country offices. This is business driven and varies

Fields of study
Typically sought-after fields are either in the Operations department  or in Corporate support

Not specified - but many positions are awarded every year

Sponsorship duration
Usually, internship opportunities are for a minimum of four weeks, and offered during two seasons every year - the Summer (June–September) AND the Winter (December–March)

Scholarship benefits
The Bank Group pays an hourly salary to all interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance towards travel expenses. Interns are responsible for their own living accommodations.

Method of Application
You may apply for the Summer Internship (June–September) or the Winter Internship (December–March). All applications MUST be submitted online, and within that period's deadline. Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any further changes/updates.

DEADLINES:
Applications are accepted from interested candidates for either the Summer Internship or the Winter Internship. The application period for the Summer Internship is December 1–January 31 each year. The application period for the Winter Internship is October 1–31.

Applications for the Winter World Bank Internship starting in December 2018 are being accepted from October 1st through October31st, 2018
