Scholarship Description
Mrs Kathryn Davis, Graduate Institute predecessor HEI alumna who obtained her PhD in 1934, finances each year four full scholarships of four years.

Eligibility
These scholarships will be attributed in spring to students beginning their PhD programme in September exclusively at the Institute.

Eligible groups
Both International students of any nationality on the one hand; AND also students from Muslim countries on the other hand

Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva; Switzerland

Any field of study available at the Institute.

Number of awards
Four (4) full scholarhips:
  • Two of these scholarships (Kathryn Davis Scholarship and Shelby Collum Davis Scholarship) are intended for one female student and one male student of any nationality
    -- who completed their previous studies at an American university
  • Two other scholarships (Davis scholarships) are intended for
    -- One female student and one male student from Muslim countries
Sponsorship duration
In principle, the duration is four consecutive years with a review of the advancement of the student’s thesis carried out each year.

Scholarship benefits
The scholarships relieve them of paying their tuition fees and provide them with an annual pension of CHF 18,000.

Method of Application
If you request a scholarship when applying to the Institute, you must send a 'Scholarship Request Form' [please download from official website via link below] (with the required annexes) together with your application form.

Candidates using the online application will may use this document and mail it together with your application file.

All documents must reach the Student Office by January, 15th.
