Scholarship Description
Conestoga College in Canada values the contribution of international students to the College community. The International Student Scholarships are designed for students applying to a full-time diploma or degree program and who meet the academic requirements for their intended program of study at Conestoga.

The International Student Scholarships is open to students who will begin their studies in a post-secondary program in September each year. Students must be a citizen of a country other than Canada and hold a valid study permit for the period of study.

Scholarships can be Entrance Scholarships, Regional Scholarships or Priority Program Scholarships. Conestoga reserves the right to limit the number and value of the scholarship based on available funding.

Eligibility
General Eligibility Criteria:
  • Entrance Scholarships are open to new students only (excluding 2nd Program and English to Post-secondary Scholarships)
  • Students are eligible to receive one scholarship from each category: A. Entrance Scholarship, B. Regional Scholarship and C. Priority Program Scholarship
  • Applicants will be ranked based on highest academic average for the program to which they apply
  • Students must be registered full-time to be eligible
  • To guarantee equal consideration, students must submit the scholarship application and confirm and pay in accordance with the deadlines for the semester of admission (fees due dates for deposit and semester tuition)

A. Entrance Scholarships

i). Degree Entrance Scholarship
$2,500 split over Year 1 and Year 2 of the program, awarded to students beginning studies in the Fall semester only. Applicants will be ranked based on highest academic average in their top six grade 12 courses including required subjects

ii). Degree Pathway Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded to students beginning studies in an approved Conestoga pathway in the Fall semester only. Applicants will be ranked based on program admission requirements (highest academic average) unless otherwise stated

iii). Diploma Entrance Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded each intake. Eligible applicants will be ranked based on program admission requirements (highest academic average)

iv). English for Academic Studies to Post-Secondary Studies Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded each intake. Eligible applicants will be ranked on highest academic average in Level 4 of Conestoga’s English for Academic Studies program

v). 2nd Program Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded to students who have graduated from a previous Conestoga diploma, degree or graduate program (excludes certificate programs) and who apply to begin a 2nd program within 4 months of completion. Students will be ranked on the highest academic average (GPA) from the previous program of study

B. Regional Scholarships

These involve:
  • $1,000 scholarships available by region, awarded each intake (September, January and May)
  • Eligible applicants will be ranked based on program admission requirements (highest academic average)
  • Applicants must be a citizen of a country within the following regions:
    • Africa
    • South Asia and the Middle East
    • Vietnam and Philippines
    • East Asia (all countries excluding Vietnam and Philippines
    • Eastern Europe and Central Asia
    • Latin America and Caribbean

C. Priority Program Scholarships

These involve:
  • $1,000 awarded to new students enrolled in priority programs (see 2016/17 list below).
  • Eligible applicants will be ranked based on program admission requirements (highest academic average)
Priority Programs for 2016-2017:
  1. Accounting, Audit, and Information Technology (Bachelor of Business Administration) (Co-op)
  2. Advertising and Marketing Communications
  3. Biotechnology Technician Fast Track (those holding a BSc degree will be eligible for direct admission into year 3 of the Bachelor of Environmental Public Health upon completing the Biotechnology Technician Fast Track Diploma)
  4. Computer Application Security
  5. Design (Bachelor of) (Honours) (Co-op)
  6. Enhanced Nursing Practice – Clinical and Critical Care
  7. Enhanced Professional Practice – Gerontology and Chronic Illness
  8. Information Technology Business Analysis Operations
  9. Information Technology Network Security
  10. Integrated Marketing Communications
  11. International Business Management (Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) (Co-op)
  12. Network Engineering Systems Administration
  13. Packaging Engineering Technician (Fast Track)
  14. Process Quality Engineering
Method of Application
Before you qualify to apply for this scholarship, you must apply to a full-time diploma or degree program and meet the academic requirements for the program of study. You must also satisfy the eligibility requirements listed out above. Paper applications will no longer be accepted. You must complete and submit the online General Application if you wish to be considered for an award, scholarship or bursary for which you meet criteria. You must complete the General Application by following the steps listed on the official website.
