Scholarship Description
Conestoga College in Canada values the contribution of international students to the College community and offers Awards and Scholarships designed for students applying to full-time diploma or degree programs and who meet the academic requirements for their intended program of study at Conestoga.

The International Awards and Scholarships are open to students who will begin their studies in a post-secondary program in September each year. Students must be a citizen of a country other than Canada and hold a valid study permit for the period of study.

International awards and scholarships can be Entrance Scholarships, Regional Scholarships, Priority Program Scholarships or International Scholars Research Assistantships. Conestoga reserves the right to limit the number and value of the scholarship based on available funding.

Eligibility
General Eligibility Criteria:
  • Students are eligible to receive one scholarship from up to two categories:
    A. Entrance Scholarships
    B. Regional Scholarships
    C. Priority Program Scholarships
    D. International Scholars Research Assistantships 
  • Entrance, regional and priority program scholarships are open to new students only (excluding 2nd program and English to post-secondary studies scholarship)
  • Applicants will be ranked based on previous highest academic performance
  • Applicants must be full-time students
Please note: In order to remain eligible for a scholarship, you must pay your deposit and fees in full by the due dates specified in your letter of acceptance.

Student Scholarships

All international applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships:

1). Entrance Scholarships
a). Entrance Excellence Scholarship:
$1,500 scholarships awarded each intake to students at the highest level of academic performance. Applicants will be ranked based on past academic performance (highest academic average) and awards will be distributed across all countries of origin.

b). English for Academic Studies to Post-Secondary Studies Scholarship
$1,500 scholarships awarded each intake. Eligible applicants will be ranked on highest academic average in Level 4 of Conestoga’s English for Academic Studies program. Following the completion of the EAS program, students must be entering a degree, diploma or graduate certificate at Conestoga College and must be eligible to proceed.

c). Continuing Canadian Education Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship awarded to international students who are admitted to a degree, diploma or graduate certificate at Conestoga College from a Canadian High School or a partner language school (scholarship application required).

d). 2nd Program Scholarship
$1,500 scholarship awarded to students who have previously graduated from a Conestoga diploma, degree or graduate certificate program (excludes certificate (C) programs) and who apply to a second program within four months of completion. Students will be ranked on the highest academic average (GPA) from the previous program of study.

2). Regional Scholarships
a). Regional - Degree Entrance Scholarship
$3,000 awarded to students beginning studies in the Fall, Winter or Spring semesters. Applicants will be ranked based on past academic performance (highest academic average) and awards will be distributed across all countries of origin.

b). Regional - Diploma Entrance Scholarship
$1,500 awarded to students beginning studies in the Fall, Winter or Spring semesters. Applicants will be ranked based on past academic performance (highest academic average) and awards will be distributed across all countries of origin.

c). Regional – Graduate Program Entrance Scholarship
$1,500 awarded to students beginning studies in the Fall, Winter or Spring semesters. Applicants will be ranked based on past academic performance (highest academic average) and awards will be distributed across all countries of origin.

3). Priority Program Scholarships
  • $1,000 awarded to new students enrolled in priority programs (see 2018/19 list below).
  • Eligible applicants will be ranked based on program admission requirements (highest academic average)
Priority Programs for 2018-2019
  • Building Systems Engineering
  • Bachelor of Interior Design
  • Broadcasting Performance and Digital Media
  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse – At Risk Populations
  • Nutrition and Food Service Management
4). International Scholars Research Assistantships
a). Science and Technology Research Assistantships
$10,000 scholarship awarded to degree students based on cumulative academic achievement in their program. Students must have completed at least one year of their program and are continuing full time studies in a subsequent year of study in their degree. Students must also satisfy criteria for the Jobs on Campus program. Through this initiative, students will work with either an Industrial Research Chair or a Director of a Centre for Excellence and Innovation at Conestoga College. Funds will be distributed throughout the year. (Application and essay required. Available May 2018.)

Method of Application
All international applicants are automatically considered for the scholarships listed above. To apply to a program of study, see the admission requirements, and then apply here.

Completed applications will be processed in a timely manner. You will be advised via email notification if supporting documents are still required. Incomplete applications will be held as long as the program remains open. After a program has closed, an incomplete application will also be closed.

DEADLINES:
Submit your completed application by August 30th deadline each year. We are not currently accepting applications. We will re-open the portal to new applications in the near future.
