Scholarship Description
The Chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the President of the International Campus are pleased to announce the 2018/2019 round of scholarships for foreign students who are interested to pursue their studies at TUMS-IC (Tehran University of Medical Sciences- International Campus). The first round of this scholarship was offered in 2011/2012 academic session.
The Tehran University of Medical Sciences International Scholarship is available for undergraduate (BSc), Masters (MSc), PhD and Doctoral studies. The TUMS Scholarship Program is set up by TUMS-IC to facilitate students and scholars from all over the world to conduct their study and research at TUMS-IC.
The scholarship aims to increase the mutual understanding and scientific exchange of scholars and students of Iran and scholars and students from the rest of the world. TUMS is the best university in the field of medical sciences in Iran and it is the second best medical university in the Middle East.
Eligibility
The scholarship is only for non-Iranian citizens. The following applies:
- For undergraduate level of studies: The applicant must have finished her or his high school.
- For graduate level of studies: The applicant must have had obtained a degree in the field related to her/his desired field of study
- The teaching language will be in English. The applicant need to have proof of English language ability to write, read, and understand.

Field of Study
Scholarship is open for students pursuing studies in the following schools:
Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Advanced Technology in Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing and Midwifery and Rehabilitation.
The language of instruction at TUMS for international students is English both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. However, since some of the majors and programs at the undergraduate level require students to have interaction with patients who speak Persian, learning Persian could be obligatory for the students of those majors.

Scholarship benefits
The value of the scholarship varies from 3,000 to 15,000 US$. The scholarship covers students’ first transport from the airport, housing, partial food plans, computer labs, sports and student union membership, library, and internet access.

Applicant must complete an online Application Form. Once the application has been submitted successfully the Scholarship Coordinator will contact the prospect student to submit further documents. DEADLINES:
TUMS enjoys a rolling application system. Students are able to apply at any time. However, there are two sessions - the fall semester starts late September, and the spring semester starts late January/early February. Complete applications should be submitted at least 5 months before the intended semester. Therefore, application submission deadline for February academic sessions is October and for September academic sessions is June of each year.
Deadline for the February 2018 academic session is 31st October, 2017. Anything later than this date will be considered for the September academic entry, whose deadline is 30th June 2018

Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) is the largest and most highly ranked medical university of Iran. Located in Tehran adjacent to the main University of Tehran campus, it was founded as part of Dar ol-Fonoon, and later absorbed into Tehran University in 1934. It finally separated from Tehran University by parliamentary legislation in 1986, coming under the new Ministry of Health and Medical Education. TUMS is ranked as one of Iran's top research universities.
