Scholarship Description
The Adobe® Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) is a global digital media competition for student creators. The ADAA celebrates student achievement reflecting the powerful convergence of technology and the creative arts.

How big are YOUR career dreams? The ADAA can make them come true. Get exposure to the best design agencies, connect with other young designers, and learn what it takes to land today’s most coveted creative jobs.

Connected to industry professionals, academic leaders, and top brands, the ADAA is launching the next generation of student careers. Free to submit, ADAA entry offers the chance for mentorship, detailed feedback, career bootcamps, internships, and the big prize for the winners — an unforgettable trip to Las Vegas to attend Adobe MAX 2017.


Eligibility
The Competition is free to enter!

Participants must be over the age of 18 and a student enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education. Adobe tools must have contributed to the creation of the entry.

Judging Criteria:
1. Project originality and creative excellence.
2. Effectiveness in meeting a communication objective.
3. Demonstrating skills in applying Adobe products towards these ends.

*NEW FOR 2017:
Entries incorporating new forms of media may be recognized with an “Excellence in New Media” Special Designation. Students working with virtual reality, augmented reality, 360 photography, and other emerging technologies are encouraged to apply in the segment that best describes the purpose of their work, and in the category that best aligns to the final product.

The ADAA Award's 14 categories are divided into three segments depending on the purpose of the work.

1). Fine Art - for its own sake.
  • Photography;

  • Illustration;
  • Animation / Motion Graphics; and
  • Video Editing / Post- Production
2). Commercial - for a client (fictional or real)
  • Photography;
  • Print / Graphic / Illustration;

3). Social Impact - for a social or environmental cause
  • Photography / Print / Illustration / Graphic;

The competition – which showcases individual and group projects created with industry-leading Adobe creative software – honors the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, game developers, computer artists and related from the world’s top institutions of higher education.
