Scholarship Description
Makerere University Uganda, in co-operation with University of Copenhagen Denmark, are offering Scholarships in Social Sciences for Ugandan students for the academic year 2011/2012. Applicant(s) should be a qualified Ugandian.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans for the Makerere University / University of Copenhagen Scholarships in Social Sciences tenable at Makerere University and will focus on social aspects of medicine use in children with epilepsy.

The Makerere University Scholarships in Social Sciences will be a fully sponsored scholarship covering tuition and research costs. The award is offered in conjunction with the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, from a grant from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Eligibility
Eligible candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following:
  1. Social Sciences- Sociology and Social Work and Social Administration
  2. Health Sciences- Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry
  3. Adult and Community Education
  4. Education- Science with Education or Arts with Education
Applicants should be currently working, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in health services or health research institution.

Method of Application
Enrolment in a relevant Masters training program at Makerere University must be for the academic year 2011/2012. Candidates must submit their written application together with: -
  1. An up-to- date curriculum vitae
  2. Copies of relevant academic certificates
  3. Undergraduate University transcript
  4. Two-page statement of purpose of study and proposed research
  5. Two letters of reference- academic and professional
