Scholarship Description
The University of London International Programmes and the Canon Collins Trust are jointly offering scholarships for Master of Laws (LLM) by distance learning at the University of London in 2016.

Canon Collins Trust invites applications for scholarships for the Master of Laws (LLM) by distance learning of the University of London. The University of London and Canon Collins Trust will jointly select the recipients of this award.

These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of University of London International Programmes which shall waive full tuition and examination entry fees for four scholarship recipients.

University of London LLM Distance Learning Scholarships

Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be admitted to the Master of Laws by distance learning programme at the University of London.

Applicants for this scholarship must be:
  • a national of South Africa, Malawi, Zimbabwe or Zambia
  • normally resident in one of these four countries
  • in possession of a good first degree in any field;
  • currently employed in full or part-time work;
  • able to commit a minimum of 10 hours to study per week.

Selection Criteria:
In selecting scholars, the Canon Collins Trust will apply a number of criteria including academic merit, work experience, need and the potential to contribute to southern Africa’s future prosperity. The Trust is looking for future leaders in their fields and therefore demonstrable leadership qualities are important.

Sponsorship duration
Scholarship recipients have between 1 to 5 years to complete the LLM, and continued registration on the course is dependent upon satisfactory progress and academic reports.

These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of University of London International Programmes which shall waive full tuition and examination entry fees for four scholarship recipients.

Local examination fees are not included.

Method of Application
Note that you do not need to be admitted to the Master of Laws before applying for the scholarship; you can do both at the same time.

You must apply to the University of London separately to securely a place on this course. You can apply for admission to this course online at www.londoninternational.ac.uk/onlineapps/ Note there is no cost to apply for admission to this course. If you are offered a scholarship but fail to get a place on a course, the Trust will withdraw the offer.

The Trust will accept scholarship applications through its online form between Monday 11 May 2015 and Tuesday 15 September 2015. The online application form can be found on the Canon Collins Trust website.
