Scholarship Description
Each summer the Clinton International Summer Program brings together accomplished university students from underserved communities around the world to promote entrepreneurship, business leadership and community engagement.

The program helps prepare young leaders to advance positive change and development in their home countries

The 2015 Clinton International Summer School, in partnership with the INCORE Summer School at Ulster University is a one-week intensive scholarship program for university students from post-conflict and developing regions.

Clinton International Summer School Scholarships (Fully-funded)

Eligibility
Students who meet the following eligibility requirements are invited to apply:
  • Undergraduate and graduate students, between the ages of 20-26
  • Leadership capacity
  • A technology plan that would benefit their home community
  • Highly recommended by university or community organization
  • Experience with ethnic or religious conflict or with high poverty rate
  • Fluent English skills

Fields of study
The curriculum is designed to promote entrepreneurship, leadership and community engagement and prepare the students to advance positive change and economic development in their home communities.

The program provides the participants with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand Northern Ireland’s historical conflict and that region’s continuing road to reconciliation, peace and prosperity.

Scholarship benefits
This is a Fully Funded program.

Covered Expenses Include:
  • One week program of instruction at Ulster University, Magee Campus
  • Travel Costs covered up to $1,000
  • Lodging at Magee
  • Dinners at Magee and allowance for other meals
  • Field trips to Derry, Giants Causeway
  • Tour of Belfast and one night in Corrymeela
NOT COVERED
  • Insurance (personal health and travel)

PLEASE NOTE:
Expanding from a class of 12 in 2012, representing three countries, the 2013 Summer School had 16 students attend from 8 countries. In 2014, students representing 10 countries - Croatia, India, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Ecuador, Romania and the United States, provided a rich and diverse exposure for the 2014 program.

The objectives of this program are:

1). To provide young leaders from economically and socially disadvantaged areas around the world the foundational knowledge, skills and abilities to help take their project from an idea to a reality, to the benefit of their home communities; and

2). To support the development of a new generation of leaders and build long-term and cooperative international ties among future business and community leaders through the Program’s ongoing participant communication initiatives.
