Scholarship Description
Every year, the UBS International Center of Economics in Society awards several full scholarships to outstanding international graduates to enable them to take up their doctoral studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics.

Zurich Graduate School of Economics is inviting applications for full scholarships for outstanding international graduates to pursue doctoral studies. Scholarships are open to graduates from around the world.

The UBS Center scholarships cover all fees and living expenses for a period of four years, subject to satisfactory completion of course work.

Eligibility
Scholarships are open to graduates from around the world.

They are awarded to candidates on the grounds of outstanding academic merit, and continuing support will be subject to satisfactory completion of course work. While preference may be given to students whose research plans include areas of interest of the UBS International Center of Economics in Society, applications from all areas are welcomed.

Admission to the Zurich Graduate School of Economics is a pre-condition for being considered for a UBS Center Scholarship.

Scholarship holders are free to choose their supervisor and have no mandatory duties beyond the completion of the course work and their doctorate.

Selection criteria:
The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit.

This will usually depend on availability of funds. For entry in September 2016, three awards will be given.

Sponsorship duration
Award holders are offered scholarships for a period of four years, subject to satisfactory completion of course work

Scholarship benefits
The UBS Center Scholarships are FULL scholarship awards, and they cover living expenses and all fees. The stipend covering living expenses currently stands at CHF 42’500 per year.

Method of Application
You MUST have been offered a place to be considered for this award. Admission to the Zurich Graduate School of Economics is a pre-condition for being considered for a UBS Center Scholarship.

The UBS International Center of Economics in Society, also called UBS Center in short, is an Associated Institute at the Department of Economics of the University of Zurich.

It was established in 2012, enabled by a founding donation by the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), which the bank made on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. In view of the very generous donation, the university named the UBS Center after its benefactor.
