Scholarship Description
The funds for the Femineers Scholarship come from a group of wives of members of the Wellington Branch of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand. The scholarship is offered to an undergraduate woman student proceeding towards a BE(Hons) degree at the University of Canterbury.

Eligibility
The scholarship may be held only by a full-time female undergraduate student who has completed or been exempted from the Engineering Intermediate year and is studying in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Professional year of a BE(Hons) degree at the University of Canterbury.

No person shall be ineligible for the award of the scholarship by reason of having held it in a previous year. Each scholar shall at the end of the year, provide to the Registrar a report from the Head of the Department in which she is working concerning her progress.

Sponsorship duration
The scholarship shall be awarded as funds permit and be tenable for One (1) year. However the Council of the University of Canterbury may, if it thinks fit, make no award in any particular year. Any funds accumulated through the non-award of a scholarship may be used to provide additional scholarships in a subsequent year or be added to the capital fund.

Amount of scholarship is $1,500

The annual value of the scholarship shall be determined by the donors. The scholarship may be held with any other bursary, scholarship, prize, fellowship or tertiary allowance unless the conditions of the other awards preclude it, provided that the University Council may, in determining the amount of the award, take into account the number and nature of any other awards held by the applicant.
