Scholarship Description
Sheffield Hallam University calls for scholarship applications for the Subject-specific scholarships in the fields of study listed below.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a postgraduate scholarship you must
  • be classed as an international student for fees purpose
  • have a good undergraduate degree
  • have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent*
  • be enrolling on a course with Sheffield Hallam starting in 2011/12 academic year
  • be able to evidence achievement in your personal statement
  • have submitted your course application and been given a conditional/unconditional offer
The scholarships panel will consider the quality of the personal statement alongside academic achievement when allocating scholarships. The panel will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified approximately one month after the closing date using the contact details provided on their application form. The decision of the panel is final.

* Please note that IELTS 6.0 or equivalent is the minimum English language requirement to be eligible for the subject specific scholarships and that the English language requirement for entry onto some of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses may be higher.

Selection Criteria: The scholarships will be awarded to well-qualified students who demonstrate academic, personal or professional achievement in the personal statement on their scholarship application form.

These scholarships are open to international (non-EU) applicants who will be enrolling in the 2012/13 academic year.

Scholarship benefits
Successful applicants will be awarded with a cheque and a certificate to mark their achievement at a scholarships ceremony following enrolment on their course. This scholarship is not a reduction in fees.

Method of Application
Scholarship applications should be sent following an application for a taught course at Sheffield Hallam University.

Exclusions:
  • Please note that you can only be awarded one Sheffield Hallam University scholarship or bursary. If, for example, you are successful in applying for a scholarship, you would not be eligible to receive an International Access Scheme bursary.
  • Students who come to the University through our partnership with TAR College Malaysia may not apply for these scholarships. See our Tunku Abdul Rahman College pages for an alternative scholarship.

  1. Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences - You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by
    1. 1 April for courses starting in May 2012
    2. 30 June 2012 for courses starting in September 2012
    3. 30 November 2012 for courses starting January 2013
  2. Faculty of Health and Wellbeing - You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by
    1. 15 May 2012 for courses starting in July 2012
    2. 30 June 2012 for courses starting in September 2012
    3. 30 November 2012 for courses starting January 2013
  3. Sheffield Business School (SBS - You must have accepted your offer and returned your scholarship application form by 30 June 2012 for courses starting in September 2012.
