Scholarship Description
The Bursary was established in 1946 by a gift from J R Templin Esq., A.I.E.E., to assist students in the final year of the course for the B.E.(Hons) degree

Eligibility
Candidates for the bursary shall have completed or been exempted from all the subjects of their First and Second Professional year courses at the University of Canterbury for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering with Honours.

Selection criteria:
In making the award preference shall be given to a candidate whose work and progress have been worthy, and whose financial circumstances are such that he or she would have difficulty in completing his or her course without financial assistance. No candidate will be considered if he or she holds any award or other form of financial assistance.

Sponsorship duration
Tenure is 1 year.

The tenure of the bursary may be terminated at any time by the Council should it receive from the Faculty of Engineering an unfavourable report on the conduct or progress of the holder.

Amount is $1,000

Method of Application
Application for the bursary shall be made in writing and must be in the hands of the Registrar no later than 5.00 p.m. on 31 March in any year, but the Council shall not be debarred from making an award to a student who has made no formal application.

Application forms are only available from approximately 8 weeks ahead of the closing date.
